On boardwalks through the moor

On boardwalks, you'll hike across vast moorland meadows, through small sunken forests - a paradise for nature lovers. Along the way, you can discover a number of rare flowers.

In spring, the rare celestial keys and spotted orchid bloom here. With a little luck you can see deer jumping through the woods and meadows in large numbers.
The mouth of the Haberniser Au near the coast is the largest contiguous and naturally preserved lowland area on the Flensburg Fjord. The Habernis Valley, formed 15,000 years ago, offers many special features such as Tall herbaceous corridors, quarry forest, low moor, springs and orchid-rich wet meadows. Deer, pheasants, hares and gray geese feel at home here and many species of songbirds can be observed. Orchid, cottongrass and clove root are found here. The hiking trail leads on a wooden plank path through the lowlands with its wet meadows. The Au flows into the Baltic Sea via a small sluice. Not far from the coast, the Querner Mühlenbach flows into the Haberniser Au. This has been renatured over a length of 2 km in recent years and meanders quietly in its new bed from Friedrichstal. Out of consideration for nature and wildlife, it is important that dogs stay on a leash. Numerous hiking trails of different lengths lead through the calming and magical landscape.
