The first Plauen train station was located between the tunnel through the "Swiss Bed" (a rocky outcrop opposite the Hohen Stein) and the Hegereiter Bridge. Only pictures of this station survive. After 1897, the first Plauen station was demolished to make way for the rail connection to the rock cellar. It had already been replaced by the "Old Plauen Station," built in 1897. However, the "first" and the "Old Station" continued to exist side by side for some time.

Hiking

On July 28, 1855, the Albert Railway from Tharandt to Dresden opened, and the "Plauen" station was built along its line on the southern edge of what is now Dresden's city limits. Originally, the station was located directly opposite the Felsenkeller Brewery, which opened in 1858, at the same level as the brewery and the street.
