Hiking

The circular hike to Bernstein offers not only fresh air but also magnificent views. The word "Bern" is derived from the Old High German word "bero," meaning "bear." Bears are said to have been native to the Northern Black Forest until the late Middle Ages. The view from Bernstein extends into the Murg Valley, the Hornisgrinde, the Fremersberg near Baden-Baden, the Rhine Plain, and, on clear days, as far as the Vosges Mountains and the Palatinate.
