Hiking

Since the heyday of the Bergisch iron trade between 1750 and 1800, 25 hammers and Kotten have been lined up along the Gelpe and Saalbach rivers. The Büngershammer stood the test of time and was not shut down until 1973. Since then, nature has recaptured the Gelpe Valley and there are only a few traces of the industrial past.
