Washington, D.C. is the capital of the United States and a compact city on the Potomac River, bordering the states of Maryland and Virginia. It is characterized by imposing neo-classical monuments and buildings, including the landmarks that house the 3 branches of government: the Capitol, the White House and the Supreme Court. Washington is also home to well-known museums and performing arts venues such as B. Kennedy Center.

The best time to see this is in the evening sun, in winter during the week is best to have less tourists in your pics ;-)

The visitor center, which is located under the building, can be reached from the east side. I would like to point out the interesting building history of the Capitol. Construction began in 1793, the first meeting being held in 1800 while work was still underway on the south wing. In 1812 the building was largely destroyed by the British during the war. The Capitol was rebuilt in 1826 and later expanded several times.
