In 1898, the initials "GI" were carved into the Imhof Stone above the bench carved into the rock. They commemorate Gustav von Imhof, who last extensively renovated and expanded Hohenstein Castle in 1890. The new construction of the southeast wing and the tower with its external staircase in the castle garden date from this period.
