A bench and a refuge invite you to take a break here. You have a beautiful view of the dam.

Here is also a stamp location of HWN 110.

The Granetalsperre, built in 1969, is the youngest of the Harz dams and was built in the Granetal. Since the river Grane itself did not carry enough water for the 3 km long lake, an approx. 7.4 km long tunnel to the Oker was created below the Oker dam. This also takes in water from the Gose on the way. Another 4.8 km long tunnel leads from the Radau to the Großer Romke and thus also into the Oker-Grane tunnel. There is also an underground connection to the Innerste Reservoir.

A small footpath leads from the refuge almost down to the shore.
Smaller children should stay with adults because of the gradient!
Another bench outside the hut invites you to check the correct lacing of your hiking shoes😉

Refuge with Harzerwandernadel, which invites you to stay. Below the main path is a bank with a beautiful view of the Granetalsperre towards Astfeld

Very beautiful reservoir not far from Goslar. Here you can hike along 🥾 through quiet patches of forest 🌳 and cultivated meadows. The Steinberg Alm is also nearby (A piece of Bavaria in the Harz Mountains?! 😃)

Built in 1969 and thus the youngest of the Harz dams!

A barely recognizable path leads past the hut to the shore, where you can pretty much relax.
