Insanely great panoramic view! The stamp office has been relocated, but the way is definitely worth it. The best way to do it is the circular walk ...

On the 4km long trail "Spur der Steine" you can circle the quarry.

A textbook example of a successful renaturation. A quarry can become so beautiful and small-scale after its use.

One of my personal favorite places. Great view of the “stone” in the quarry 🤗

The path of the stones can be integrated very well into a round trip around Wolfshagen. You can walk on the Steinway Trail, visit the Schäderbaude, the Schlederpavillon (great view of Wolfshagen), the Schäderquelle and as a conclusion the way or use the track of the stones to visit the station 109 of the Harzer hiking nobility.

A quarry that has been closed since 1987, with a great circular hiking trail.

The old diabase quarry on Heimberg near Wolfshagen in the Harz region looks back on over 100 years of operating history (1885 to 1986). The so-called brood rock forms an eye-catcher, which as an island mountain, as excavated residue from inferior rock, towers over the quarry floor by around 50 m. A fine example of a successful renaturation of a former industrial plant.

The relocation could be better pointed out locally. Wanted to turn back halfway 😆😬

If you follow the path "Trail of stones" there is a rest area on the opposite side with a totally different perspective of the quarry.

If you follow the theme trail "Spur der Steine" around the disused Diabas quarry you reach the stamping point of the Harzer Wanderadel with the number 109 and the name Heimberg. From here you have a great view of the former quarry.

Really great and informative viewpoint. It is recommended to go the signposted trail (track of the stones), which was opened in 2016. The trail is about 4 km long, but not necessarily suitable for pushchairs.

Easily accessible from Wolfshagen. The rock overgrown with trees in the middle of the quarry is just as worth seeing as the "path of stones" around the quarry
