The Kayse Oak (HWN 131). This ancient oak tree towers impressively into the sky and is a lovely spot for a short rest and, of course, a stamp ♟️. The name "Kayse Oak" goes back to Chief Forester Kayser, who headed the Grund Forestry Office from 1862 to 1882.
Kayser significantly supported the spa town of Bad Grund, founded in 1855, by creating hiking trails. The oak tree, originally planted in his honor, was only successfully established at this altitude after several attempts. A shelter (Köte) with a rest area is also located nearby.
