Statue by Karel Aubroeck (Temse, 1894 – 1986), entitled "De Hoendervoedster" (and not "De Zaaister", as can be read here and there).
Aubroeck is a name that may not sound familiar to many, but everyone knows at least one statue by his hand: the monumental equestrian statue of King Albert I in Nieuwpoort. The statue group by the Van Raemdonck Brothers at the IJzertoren in Diksmuide is also by (the very Flemish-minded) Aubroeck.
