The historic building of the Luitpold elementary school is probably one of the most beautiful school buildings in the city of Bamberg. The builder, Prof. Hans Jakob Erlwein, was a famous Bamberg architect and, as the city's planning officer at the time, played a decisive role in shaping the city's appearance.
