The market fountain from 1953 shows the Altbargteheider original Schinderhannes on one of the wood-clad side walls. or, civilly, Johann Hinrich Mollwitz (08/11/1846 - 02/29/1916).
He was a skinner and worked as a night watchman from 1889 to 1905. When the first kerosene lanterns were erected at that time, one of his tasks was to light them in the evening and put them out again in the morning.

The market fountain from 1953 - located in a small green area on the market - shows the original Altbargteheider Schinderhannes on one of the side walls covered in wood. There is a water carrier on the fountain.
