There is something fairytale about this tower, with an autumnal backdrop.

The Felix Tower on Schafberg Wallroda is built from weathered granite. On the Schafberg in 1824 the Kleinwolmsdorf manor owner Freiherr Wilhelm von Gutschmidt had the 17 m high tower built for his son Felix as an observatory by the Radeberg master mason Tüllmann. As early as the beginning of May 1839, a simple mountain inn was set up up here. Despite fires, changing owners and later conversion into an observatory, it was always beautiful. Today it is more of an eyesore for the Hüttertal nature reserve. It is equipped with antennas and wires, surrounded by containers and unfortunately no longer accessible because it is now privately owned by an amateur radio operator.

It's a shame that the tower is not open to the public and that the structure is suffering.
