The late-classical building from the beginning of the 19th century (literally) adds colour to the Wapenplaats, the Wakken village square.
Under French rule it was the seat of the district commissioner, then a justice of the peace and from 1864 in use as a town hall and recently as a catering establishment. The facade was renovated in 2006-2007.
