In 1986, The Pony Express appeared among the trees of Grote-Brogel. Founder Pierre Maes, who led the life of a real cowboy from Peer named Jeremiah, had recreated a coaching inn there just like the one along the Pony Express post route in 1860. On the site of about 4 hectares, there is plenty of room to stable horses, but at its center stands a wooden saloon with a typical terrace. The place grew into an almost mythical location and a welcome setting for groups and associations wanting to spend a weekend in the Wild West.
