The Flöha rises in the Eastern Ore Mountains near Nové Mesto (Neustadt). In the Czech Republic, the Flöha is dammed in the Fláje dam. At Georgendorf it flows into the Rauschenbach dam in Saxony.

The Flöha is a right tributary of the Zschopau River and originates in the Eastern Ore Mountains in the Czech Republic. The first medieval mentions of the Flöha were Flawe (1365) and Flewe (1497).
