These are the remains of the motor sailer "Polstjernan." The oldest shipwreck on the Falkensteiner Ufer is the Finnish schooner and later motor sailer "Polstjernan." The ship caught fire on October 20, 1926, while en route to England in what is now the Kiel Canal. The timber-laden ship was engulfed in flames within moments and could not be extinguished. The "Polstjernan" was eventually brought to the Falkensteiner Ufer by tugboats from a Blankenese salvage company, where its remains can still be seen between the groynes at low tide.
