The saddle tower no. 31 is located in the east wall, is nameless and belongs to the group of towers that were built when the wall was raised at the beginning of the 14th century. In the middle of the 19th century, the tower was in danger of collapsing because stones and gravel were dug up right next to the wall during the construction of a shooting range in Östergravar in the 1830s. In 1867, the tower was probably saved from collapsing by the installation of cast-iron supports.
