Hiking

Kolveren is a wet, marshy nature reserve that is enclosed between the E314 in the north, the N74 in the east and the Antwerp-Hasselt railway line. The Laambeek meanders through the area, the name of which comes from 'ditsekolf', a popular name for the bulrush.

Hiking

Kolveren is an area of small-scale parcels of water, forest, fields and pasture, separated by wooded banks consisting of oaks. Mining subsidence has increased the marshiness. In the past, iron ore was mined in the area and there was also a redoubt, the Kolverenschans. The vegetation includes common Solomon's seal, lily of the valley, lily of the valley, muskwort and wood anemone.
