The Beishan Art Center is located in an ancestral home: Baoxia Yanggong Ancestral Home (保遐杨公祠). The building was erected in 1859 by the Yang family. From the 1960s it has been used as a kindergarten, from the 1990s as an art center. It is now acting as a cultural and educational center, e.g. offering calligraphy classes.
