If we go back in history, we meet the owner of the house as a Vietnamese merchant. He built it with the aim of becoming a long-term business place with items such as cinnamon, pepper, salt, porcelain and glass,... The merchant wished that the family would do more and more business, so he named the house "Phung Hung" - also the name of his merchant, which means "wealthy".
