The monks' dining hall, the refectory, was built around 1240 in the late Romanesque style. The Gothic turret was added in 1436. The Romanesque main portal was bought in 1884 by the then Crown Prince and later Emperor Frederick III for the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg and then expanded; it was destroyed in a bomb attack there in 1945.

The monks' dining hall found a new purpose after the monastery closed. A brewery was set up for the prince's school.
