Very beautiful town with many historic buildings and a lovely little old town.

The Mörickestift goes back to the country house of a Neuenstadt doctor around 1830 and from 1853 was owned by the Möri(c)ke pharmacist family, who were closely related to the poet Eduard Mörike. After the death of his cousin Carl Möricke, his widow Marie Möricke set up a monastery for single or widowed Protestant women in 1874, which became the responsibility of the city in 1979. From the 1950s onwards, additional facilities were built on the monastery site. The old monastery building, which is still used as a retirement home today, is considered a cultural monument. Since 1860 it has had its own water pipe from its own spring in the neighboring town of Bürg. The historic elevated water tank and the remains of a park created in the 19th century have been preserved.

In the lime tree complex near the castle, in front of the upper gate tower, there was an old, allegedly thousand-year-old lime tree until April 1945, which Neuenstadt gave the nickname to the lime tree. It was surrounded by younger linden trees, the branches of which are supported by ornate stone pillars donated by nobles and citizens since the Middle Ages. The linden tree was destroyed in the fighting towards the end of the Second World War. The younger linden trees and stone columns with ornate coats of arms were preserved as an impressive arcade.
The public court had been here since 1448.
