The Snijsselsbos is located in the northeast of the municipality of Steenokkerzeel and is bordered in the east by the Barebeek. It is part of the Groene Vallei.

The Snijsselsbos mainly comprises a number of stands with acidic humus on the west side, where sandy loam soils occur. Here, Pedunculate oak, American oak, Beech, Silver birch and Scots pine alternately dominate in the tree layer. In the herb layer, among others, the Common thorn fern, Broad prickly fern, Royal fern, Moor grass, Common Solomon's seal, False sage, Bracken, Lily of the valley and Wavy hair grass stand out. This forest type gradually changes eastwards, towards the stream, into a type with a spring aspect (on wet clay), with in the tree layer Pedunculate oak, Common ash and Poplar, in the shrub layer a lot of Hazel and Elm, and in the herb layer among others Slender cowslip, Cuckoo flower, Lesser celandine, Spotted arum, Great witches herb, Wood anemone, Common Solomon's seal, Yellow dead-nettle, Pale-spored wood violet, Musk herb and Wood buckweed.
