The church was renovated in 1847 into the neo-Gothic building it is today. The original Romanesque choir tower was integrated into the current west facade and the church was consecrated the same year. It is a cruciform church, with a Latin cross as its floor plan. The building has a built-in 12th century sandstone tower. Traces of two former roof slopes are visible on the west facade. The building consists of brick masonry on a sandstone base. The church houses a Van Peteghem organ. This organ has an oak organ case in the rococo style and has been protected since 1979.
