Bike Touring Highlight
The Rheinorange is a steel sculpture by the Cologne sculptor Lutz Fritzsch at the mouth of the Ruhr in the Rhine. The landmark of the Industrial Heritage Route is 25 meters high and weighs 83 tons. It was built in 1992.
From the Rheinorange one overlooks the Rhine, the Ruhr, the Friedrich-Ebert-Brücke and the adjacent districts Duisburg-Ruhrort and Duisburg-Homberg.

Even if you always say, the last part of the Ruhrtal bike path from Mühlheim to Duisburg estuary into the Rhine .... is not so nice ...... but if you drove the entire way from Winterberg to the mouth, it is nice to stay there. We missed it that there was not at least a book there, but we had taken precautions 🍾🥂😊
