If you drive the Ruhrtalradweg in the opposite direction, the tour starts directly with a highlight. Here, the Ruhr flows into the Rhine and here you just have to stop, look around and shoot a photo of you with your buddies and your bike;)

Who is at Rheinorange, can make a trip to the nearby inner harbor of Duisburg. Especially in nice weather you can stay there nice. The harbor basin is flanked on both sides by nice outside catering and offers a lot of variety.

The Rheinorange is a steel sculpture by the Cologne sculptor Lutz Fritzsch at the mouth of the Ruhr in the Rhine. The landmark of the Industrial Heritage Route is 25 meters high and weighs 83 tons. It was built in 1992.

From the Rheinorange one overlooks the Rhine, the Ruhr, the Friedrich-Ebert-Brücke and the adjacent districts Duisburg-Ruhrort and Duisburg-Homberg.

Where the Ruhr flows into the Rhine. Nice destination for cycling in the region, endpoint of the Ruhr Valley Cycle Route. Suitable for picnics, barbecues or just to look.

Even if you always say, the last part of the Ruhrtal bike path from Mühlheim to Duisburg estuary into the Rhine .... is not so nice ...... but if you drove the entire way from Winterberg to the mouth, it is nice to stay there. We missed it that there was not at least a book there, but we had taken precautions 🍾🥂😊

The Rhine at the mouth of the Ruhr is a feast for the eyes and is always worth a visit, as it is a great place to watch the shipping traffic during a break.
