The Ruhrort harbor was founded in 1716 and expanded over the centuries. Today museum ships are moored here, but the port is still actively in operation as part of the largest inland port in the world: duisport.de/unternehmen/unsere-geschichte

There is always something going on on the quay - the view of the ships, the harbor and the Rhine is worthwhile.

The museum ship "Oscar Huber", built in 1922, is a unique cultural monument. Until the 1960s, the wheeled boat pulled up to seven non-powered barges with their cargo per trip. It represents a technology that was in use for more than 100 years.

The last port crane with steam power radiates after restoration in fresh blue. Booms, steam boilers, rotary and lifting mechanics are de-rusted and protected for the next decades. The Förderverein Maritimes Ruhrort organized the rescue of the Technikdenkmal at the Schifferbörse.
