The Worringen water tower was built between 1906 and 1908 on behalf of the Worringen mayor's office and was originally 18m high. Since the official seat had recently been moved from Fühlingen back to Worringen, it can be assumed that the construction was an attempt to strengthen Worringen as an independent municipality. The builder went bankrupt, so the tower was never put into operation. In 1922, Worringen was incorporated into Cologne.
