One last time, my tour led me through the detour of the construction site.🚧🏗️🦺 From 20.05.2026, the old route will be valid again.
The tour started with a surprise… I landed in Bern… in 33 minutes…. I had never been to Switzerland so quickly….😬 But reality taught me that I was still in the Rhineland

Quickly fetching the car🚗 from Stammheim after paddling.
Of course, passing the construction site. The 1200-ton approach bridge has completed its journey and now lies on the abutment and piers over the A59.
The SPMTs and the hydraulic units for lifting the bridge are currently being dismantled and transported

On a beautiful day ☀️we went on the Rhine.
Headwind 💨ensured that the tour was half an hour longer than usual.
From the water side, the construction progress was clearly visible.
The power pylons on the Cologne and Leverkusen sides are growing in height.
The 1200-ton foreland bridge has completed its journey

When 1200 tons are on the move, it's worth a bike ride 🚲.
Even if the route is only 140 meters long, it is still a considerable logistical masterpiece.
The altitude difference between the A1 roadway above and the unloading point on the abutment is 8 meters.
The entire process is expected to take about 4 days.

Short Sunday round before the weather is supposed to get bad again.
On the A59 🚧🦺🛠️ the SPMTs have been completed.
The finished approach bridge on the Leverkusen side is already ready for transport on SPMTs (seen yesterday 02.05.2026 when I had to cross the bridge for work) on the A1 above the abutment
