Family round in Bad HarzburgThe hike in Bad Harzburg is actually the perfect family round: 12 km, four stamps evenly distributed in the round, pleasant paths, historical buildings on the castle hill, a cable car and even a tree top path if you want. In between there are lynx enclosures with free entry and usually two options to stop by. It couldn't be more perfect.
Today we walk up to the Burgberg, from which you have a great view of Bad Harzburg (121). Pass the castle complex and the cable car station to the cross of the German east (122). Today for the first time in perfect weather. At this point we have already built snowmen. The “giant bench” is funny on this section. It has the best view of the Brocken and is certainly 6m long and so high that even I can't get my feet on the ground (with a size of 1.90m). Everyone looks like a dwarf on the bench.
The Rabenklippe (170) as the next location is a bit orphaned today, because after the lynx enclosure was badly damaged in a storm, the lynxes escaped into the Harz Mountains. They were caught again within three months, but have not yet returned to the enclosure.
You also have a perfect view of the Brocken from the raven cliff. The whey house (169) is about 2 kilometers away. Here is the last stamp in this round. The whey house is currently not in use, so you should inquire beforehand whether you can count on refreshments here. Then you hike steeply down to the treetop path, which also has a special stamp in its impressive building. Right next to this facility there is a fairytale land for the little ones.
