Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
Baden is located on one of the last Geest ridges in northern Germany. Extensive marshes, forest areas, the Weser stream valley and typical high moorland landscape form the framework for a charming, varied landscape with a high recreational value. For this reason Baden has in the past even temporarily added "climatic health resort". In Baden meet not only the Weser, the Alte Aller and the 2010 broadened lock canal at the foot of the Baden mountains on each other, but Baden has also with the Schraderberg the highest elevation in the area (about 48 m). The terracing of the Baden Weser slope in the 19th century opened up a broad view of the Weser. A unique panorama with stunning views to the Syker and Wildeshauser Geest as well as the Verden Cathedral. In 2013, Baden, the largest district of Achim, celebrated its 1000th anniversary.
