Baden lies on one of the last Geest ridges in northern Germany. Extensive marshes, forest areas, the Weser river valley and typical high moor landscape form the framework for a charming, varied region with a high level of recreational value. For this reason, Baden even carried the addition of "climatic health resort" at times in the past. In Baden, not only do the Weser, the Alte Aller and the lock canal, which was widened in 2010, meet at the foot of the Baden mountains, but Baden also has the highest point in the area with the Schraderberg (approx. 48 m). The terracing of Baden's Weser slope in the 19th century opened up a wide view of the Weser. A unique panorama with a wonderful view of the Syker and Wildeshauser Geest as well as the Verden Cathedral. In 2013, Baden, the largest district of Achim, celebrated its 1000th anniversary.
