Tips
The watchtower, dating from around 1480, secured the long flank between the Rhine Gate and the White Tower and the moat in front of it. It is connected to the Zwinger wall, which was placed in front of the actual city wall; the space between the two walls is filled and accessible.
It was destroyed in the Second World War and rebuilt during the renovation work in 1993.translated by
