As (almost) always, the stables of past times are very beautiful of castles!

Also, this building is a magnificent, especially since it has been renovated.

Basedow black horses were bred in Basedow as early as the 15th century. From 1818 to 1853, a stud farm existed here with approximately 100 English thoroughbred mares, bred for the Bad Doberan racetrack. Starting in 1835, Stüler built the Marstall (95 x 53 m) with an indoor riding arena. After the Güstrow racetrack was founded in 1827, a training track was built in Basedow shortly afterwards, the same length and shape as the Doberan racetrack: 5,500 feet = 1 English mile, width 72 feet. The Basedow race stud was closed in 1853.

The Marstall is still used as a horse stable today. The owner is the same as the hotel and steakhouse owner, who, in a way, came away empty-handed when the castle was sold. In terms of restoring historically significant buildings, it might be advantageous if the burden is spread somewhat within the village.
