Mill and Dilborn Castle have been closely related for centuries. Nevertheless, the Dilborner mill previously bore the name "Elmpter Mühle". So it is in the Tranchot map from 1806 and in the Ferrari map 1771-1778.

The Dilborner Mühle is the only mill on the Schwalm that has two water wheels installed inside the mill house. As a result, they were better protected from the weather and could also be operated in winter. The mill was used as an oil and grain mill until 1949. The grinding device and a water wheel are still fully preserved. The extensive area around the mill building is used as a campsite all year round.
