If you are looking for a campsite close to the confluence of the Colorado River with the Little Colorado River, this small beach-like area is what the National Park Service (and many maps) suggest. Camping at the confluence is not allowed and further south of here, along the Beamer Trail, there is no true other option. Besides, this location is just stunningly beautiful.

There is a good spot next to a huge boulder that provides shade even during the day. Another great spot is just above the Colorado River in a sandy ditch. Perfect for cowboy camping, watching bats and stargazing! Just keep in mind that there might be some thieves at night. We got a visit from a ringtail that very much liked the leftovers of our prickly pear fruit. ;) To camp here, you need to obtain a permit for at large camping in the BA9 area.
