The Leistenklippe is next to the Grenzklippe one of the cliffs of the Hohnekamm. Also located at 900 meters, the view from here is probably the most spectacular. The border cliff in the foreground, behind it the Brocken rises majestically. The wind weathering leaves the trees; the wool sack weathering the granite rocks look very wild and romantic. Great photo spot for early or late hours! And also: Stamp office of the HWN 15.

The ledge cliff is one of the best known and most popular granite cliffs in the Harz National Park. This lookout rock is located about three kilometers northeast of Schierke. At a height of around 901 meters above sea level, the inguinal cliff is the highest point on the Hohnekamm.
The prominent rock cliff was opened to hikers early on due to the good view. Since 1898, the ledge cliff in the middle of the bizarre rock landscape of the Hohnekamm has been accessible via a steel ladder.
The summit blocks form an almost plateau-like area, so that one can stand on the granite formation almost like on a terrace. From there, the eye has a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains, cliffs and forests of the Hochharz and in the north even far into the neighboring Harz foothills. With appropriate visibility, you can see the cities of Wernigerode, Ilsenburg and Halberstadt as well as towards the southeast of the Lower Harz with the Großer Auerberg and the Josephskreuz. The view of the Brocken summit, about six kilometers away, is somewhat impaired by the neighboring border cliff, which lies directly in the line of sight.
The striking rock formation shows the wool sack weathering typical of granite. Like the building blocks of giant children, the mighty blocks of stone seem to be piled on top of each other. Some structures in the area of the inguinal cliff look fragile, but have been there for millennia.

Wonderful panoramic view from the groin cliff. View of Wernigerode. In a storm you have to hold on tight.
