Although the mouse cliffs are not the best vantage point to overlook the Harz forest area, they are great for taking a closer look at the rock formations and for giving children the opportunity to climb around. They are always interesting and worth seeing.

Super fun to climb the cliffs, but not without children when they are there

The mouse claw, also called Mauseklippe, is a granite rock formation in the Harz Mountains. It is located near Schierke in the Saxony-Anhalt district of Harz. As on many Harz granite rocks, the typical Wollsack weathering can be seen here. 😎

The nearest parking lot in Schierke is just 400 meters from the Mäuseklippen

A really cool spot to discover. At first glance, you feel trapped in a world of witches, because the "courtyard" is predestined for a Walpurgisnacht. However, climbers will get their money. Whether hobby discoverer or experienced climber here everyone will find something. Climbing hooks are available in several places, but you can also venture with some skill at the back without great equipment the climb. Ideal for a break.

On the way to or from the snorer cliffs. But care, fallen trees require all the attention.

The pictures above show the mouse claws and not the snorer cliffs.

Environment severely torn and changed due to clearing and harvester use. Advantage: now nice free-standing.

Another large cliff located in continuation of the Teufelsstieg from Elend to the snoring cliffs towards Schierke. Interesting rock formation with a broad base that encourages climbing.
