Helenenruh (HWN 21)

Easy to reach stamp point.

There is no longer a refuge.

A small refuge and the location for the Harzer hiking nobility number 21 can be found here, but not more. Helenenruhe is only with a bit of headfirst the view into the 150-meter-deep valley of the cold Bode - and with a clear view of the Brocken - free. Nevertheless, a really nice place for picnics, pause and pause, before you go on the way back to misery.

Beautiful place to linger. We were lucky - it was absolutely quiet. Only a few raindrops that fell on the canopy could be heard. The view was a bit hazy, creating a very special mood. Ascent is not particularly difficult. To get HWN 21. Highly Recommended.

Easily accessible stamp location of the HWN. It is definitely worth a detour from there to the Elendtal.

A nice place for a break!

The refuge Helenenruh (600 m above sea level) is located near Schierke high above the Elendstal.

From this cozy place you have a view into the 150 m deep canyon valley of the cold Bode and can see the Brocken in good visibility.

From the campsite in Schierke, a small path on the right goes past the hotel "Brockenblick" and then left up to the lookout Helenenruh, where in the refuge hut the stamp office is located.

Nice place for a break. Particularly beautiful, however, is the cliffs right next door.

After a somewhat strenuous ascent from the valley you will be rewarded with a magnificent view.
