The Roman Catholic parish church of Saint-Jean de Montmartre, also called Saint-Jean l’Évangeliste, was built between 1894 and 1904 and is considered the first religious building to be built using reinforced concrete. The church of Saint-Jean-de-Montmartre was classified as a historical cultural heritage site by a decision of September 9, 2014.

Completed in 1904, the Saint-Jean de Montmartre church was designed by Anatole de Baudot, the first architect to propose the idea of making a religious building out of concrete. As a result, concrete is a prominent material in the interior, while the exterior displays an impressive brick structure. As a sanctuary, the church is exempt (except on the outside) from the usual ornamentation of Art Nouveau. It remains faithful to antique models in a certain way, in particular through the emphasis on conventional architecture that respects above all symmetry and a certain sobriety.
