Beautifully laid out rest area on the edge of the cloverleaf route.
The street "Zum Moorschlatt" owes its name to a former Schlatt that was located at this point.
This Schlatt was one of many hollows that were blown out by wind in the area around Hasbruch after the Ice Age. Rainwater and alkaline groundwater collected in them. The latter provided the basis for life for many animal and plant species that are now rare and depend on these special site conditions.
The inhabitants of alkaline still waters include the tree frog and the great crested newt. In studies carried out by the Bremen Natural Science Society in the 19th century, the mosquito tradewort, for example, was found alongside many other flowering plants.
