About baeumchenmaler

Today I literally stepped down and went on a tour in the immediate vicinity of Delmenhorst.
It is always amazing how many green zones there are in built-up areas. For example in Varrel along the Varreler Bäke as well as the green corridor through the middle of the residential area in Moordeich and of course the Park Links der Weser between Huchting and Grollend.
Sometimes it goes there on hidden plank paths towards Ochtumdeich.
Then it goes to the Ochtum lowlands, where there are quiet places to linger.
The rest of the way then leads over the pilgrim's cross in Brokhuchting to Heidkruger Bäke and back to the starting point.

Inspired by a recently seen "discovery tour" (I don't know who it was from) today, I went east of the Dünsener Bach through the former restricted area of the Muna (munitions plant) Dünsen and at the same time went back about 70 years to my childhood.
It was quite interesting to see the remnants of the Wehrmacht from the 1930s and the Bundeswehr from the 1960s.
In the 1950s there was a school camp consisting of "Nissen huts" in the area. Today, of course, these accommodations are no longer there. There are now large warehouses there, presumably in their place.
In any case, I went there to relax during my childhood. For us children it was sometimes pretty scary and at the same time exciting to wander through this area. I can still remember a small forest pool, but I couldn't find any remains on my tour today.
In any case, it was a bit of a trip back in time.

Today I wanted to go on a bike tour again.
In order not to sink into the mud like last time, today we only went straight into the blue on asphalt roads and bike paths. It's also nice to get ahead without jolting.
Among other things, the famous "3 girls house" was worth seeing on this tour. There were times when you stopped by to have a delicious meal or to enjoy a beer in the garden. Hopefully the time will come again soon.
The Harpstedter Amtshof with its small park should also be mentioned.
The hotel restaurant "Zur Wasserburg" is just opposite. There, too, you could always enjoy good German food on the terrace.
Finally, "Hackfeld's Dorfkrug" was on the side of the road.
In the past you could also have a good meal here.
Today only celebrations such as weddings and the like are offered there, which is a shame.
When I read my writing like this, I become aware of how one wishes for "normal" times back.
But it can only get better, right?

With the nice weather a longer tour was announced today. For the most part, it was on secondary agricultural roads with "Rappelpflaster" but also on unpaved roads through mud and paddles. It was not a pleasure cycle. After all the snow, it was still too early for the tour. But by and large it was OK.

In sunshine and 8 degrees outside temperature, today we went for the first time this year by bike through the urban area of Delmenhorst.
That actually went quite well until the mudguard came loose from its holder and started to rattle. And that on uneven paths. It was so annoying that I cut the tour and watched me come home.
Now it's time to repair, because the beautiful weekend is just around the corner and will probably attract thousands of cyclists to the slopes.

That was probably the last winter tour, as it starts to get warmer on Monday. But there could still be freak weather conditions in between.
In bright sunshine and without wind, you could enjoy the white splendor again today.

In order to capture the rare winter in our region in pictures, we went to the Große Höhe again today.
