Wholesome, home-cooked food that makes you feel good!
We’re passionate about the quality of our food and its environmental and social impact. That’s why nearly all of our products are organic and/or fairtrade. In fact, much of our produce comes from our organic garden and is prepared on site by our staff. No food miles, no packaging, no chemicals – just yummy goodness! Our menus change daily depending on what’s coming in from the garden and what’s in season, so you’ll never get bored.
Always on the menu:
Coffee, Teas, Homemade Cakes, Snacks, Sandwiches, Salads, Jacket potatoes and Daily Specials (including delicious Curries, Pasta, Lasagne, Soup, Stews).
We believe in the Seven Principles of Sustainable Food:
1. Use local, seasonally available food
2. Support organic farming.
3. Limit foods of animal origin and if you can’t ensure its high welfare.
4. Encourage others to choose fish from MSC accredited sources.
5. Buy Fairtrade products.
6. Avoid bottled water.
7. Promote health and well-being with healthy food.

The Castle Garden is a long term project to make sustainable, productive and educational use of the space around the Castle building to grow food for the café, provide a space for wildlife and a relaxing space for the Castle members and staff.
We began planning and building the garden in 2009 using permaculture principles and recycled materials with the help of strong and willing volunteers. Today the result is a one acre, vibrant, biodiverse space teeming with wildlife and an abundant variety of fruit, vegetables and herbs.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the garden; come see our busy bees making honey; try and spy the animals that live in the mini-habitat of the wildlife pond or just enjoy a cup of coffee in the sun during a break.
