    Tips

    September 13, 2024

From September 15, 2024, stamp station 35 of the hiking treasures of the Wild Homeland will be located at the Lunuaquelle.

The Lunauquelle was developed in 1907 and has been supplying the village of Schönhagen with drinking water ever since. In the 1980s, the drinking water supply was initially expanded to the village of Kammerborn, and later to the villages of Sohlingen, Eschershausen, Vahle, Dinkelhausen and Bollensen. The spring normally pours out 50 liters per second, which corresponds to an annual value of 1.5 million cubic meters of water. Around 80,000 cubic meters of water are currently used for drinking water purposes each year. This water is deacidified in the raised tank and disinfected in a UV system. Further treatment of the soft water is not necessary. The remaining water flows via the Lunaubach into the Ahle, from there into the Schwülme and finally into the Weser.

Tip along the way: Be sure to drink a sip of water directly from the spring. Cups are available on site.

The Lunauquelle, a great place to rest, the idea with the drinking cups is super great. Stamping point for the WS Wilde Heimat since autumn 2024 (stamp 35). Can be reached via some great paths, from here it is not far to the Sollingturm.
