Best Hikes to Carolinenteich

Tips

  • The Carolinenteich in the Reiherbachtal is a Romanesque place. The pond can be completely circumnavigated and several benches invite you to take a break.

  • The Carolinenteich was created in 1971. It had an historical precedent that lay in the hollow behind you. A little below (approx. 100 m to the east) the breached dam of this previous pond can still be seen.
Its namesake is Caroline von Brandenburg-Ansbach, who married George II of Hanover in 1705 and became Queen of Great Britain at his side in 1727.
