The New Pond is a raftsman's pond created in 1737, which complements the 1km distant Lakenteich that was created earlier. The Neue Teich is less idyllic than the Lakenteich, also due to its location directly on the L548 road, but there are still some nice spots and benches, especially on the south bank. The spacious parking lot directly at the pond makes it an ideal starting point for Solling tours, for example to the aforementioned Lakenteich.
