The picturesque Donaueschingen road runs for 3 km from the mouth of the Linach valley along the Breg river to Hammereisenbach, and even 7 km from Vöhrenbach. The section between just before the Linach valley road and Hammereisenbach usually sees little traffic. However, the situation can be quite different on the section between Vöhrenbach and Hammereisenbach. Cyclists on the country roads and district roads in the scenic Black Forest-Baar district will frequently encounter the fast and sometimes very risky driving style of some local motorists, occasionally in a rather unpleasant way.

Road cycling

The Breg Valley is beautiful, but the road is sometimes quite busy and can move very quickly. Those who aren't exactly on narrow racing bike tires can also take the parallel cycle path along the old Bregbahn line, which is graveled and therefore somewhat slower to ride.
