The Napoleonic Road is an itinerary of about 4 km that connects the Borgo San Nazario (Prosecco) car park to the Opicina Obelisk, along the karst ridge with wonderful views of Trieste and its gulf. Its official name is Strada Vicentina, from the name of the engineer (Giacomo Vicentini) who designed the route and began construction in 1821. The current conformation is due to the improvements carried out immediately after the Second World War. It runs on a dirt road, with a total height difference of just 60 meters. The initial section is characterized by equipped rock walls.
