The rock blocks rising up in the front area of the summit are called Schrammsteinfelsen. The Schrammsteine are a 12 km² long, unspoilt, heavily rugged group of rocks. They are divided into the Vorderen Schrammsteine, which go from the Falkenstein to the wide Kluft, and the Hinteren Schrammsteine, which can be found between the Affenstein and the Winterberge. Behind them is the popular Torstein climbing rock.
