Ilbenstadt Monastery, founded in 1122, was formerly a Premonstratensian monastery.
The monks' monastery was probably located directly next to the basilica (Ober-Ilbenstadt).
The women lived in what is now known as the "Nonnenhof" (Nieder-Ilbenstadt).
All of the historic monastery buildings are UNESCO World Heritage sites.
