Biotope pond on the Fohlbach
Following the suggestions of the Heimat und Verkehrsverein Liesenich eV, after lengthy negotiations and strict conditions imposed by the nature conservation authority, the Heimat und Verkehrsverein Liesenich eV created a biotope pond in 1995: Thanks to many volunteers and a generous donation from a Liesenich citizen, a piece of nature could benefit the Flora and fauna are created. Formerly used as pastureland, later overgrown and criss-crossed by blackberry hedges and barbed wire, today one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the region runs through this piece of nature.
